How to Clean the Bong, Bowl or Pipe (Part 2)

METHODS WITHOUT ALCOHOL

Alcohol-free methods are very effective in removing ash, tar, and dirt. These techniques use little aggressive chemicals and require utensils that you can easily find in your home kitchen.

VINAGRE AND SODIUM BICARBONATE

  • Bong
  • Use a cotton swab to clean debris from the bowl. If they are very sticky, you may need a scraper.
  • Rinse the bong with warm water in the sink.
  • Remove the bowl and put it in a zippered bag. Add a teaspoon of baking soda, a dash of vinegar, and fill the bag with half warm water.
  • Shake the bag and let it rest.
  • Now, take the rest of the bong. Put a teaspoon of baking soda inside the mouthpiece, cover it with your hand and cover the stem hole with microporous tape. Shake well.
  • The bicarbonate will stick to the wet surface of the interior. Use a long cleaning brush to rub the interior surfaces.
  • Next, pour a tablespoon of vinegar and fill the chamber with warm water.
  • Cover the holes and shake again.
  • Empty the solution and rinse the bong with warm water.
  • Remove the bowl from the bag and rinse it under the tap. Use a cotton swab to remove the remaining sticky remains.
  • Pipe
  • Insert a pipe cleaner into your device a couple of times to remove any obstructions.
  • Fill a bowl or jar with warm water. Add a tablespoon of baking soda and the same amount of vinegar.
  • Place the pipe inside and let it soak for five minutes.
  • Take out the pipe and rinse it well with warm water.
  • Repeat step 1.

DETERGENT FOR DISHES

  1. Fill the sink with warm water. Add a splash of detergent to create a bubble solution.
  2. With the help of a cotton swab and a scraper, remove all debris from the bong or pipe bowl.
  3. Carefully put your tool in the water and soak it for 20 minutes.
  4. Return to the sink with a cleaning brush or pipe cleaner.
  5. If you are cleaning a bong, use the brush to thoroughly wash the interior surfaces. Use the pipe cleaner for the stem.
  6. If it is a pipe, pass the pipe cleaner inside 3 or 4 times. Dip the pipe in the water between each pass to rinse the stem.
  7. Empty the sink and rinse your tool with warm water.

BOILING WATER

Boiling water is very useful for cleaning these gadgets. But, remember: it is not suitable for thin glass instruments.

  1. Place your bong or pipe in the empty sink. Clean the bowl with a cotton swab and scraper.
  2. Boil the water and fill the bottom of the sink with it.
  3. Let your device stand for 20 minutes, or until the water has cooled sufficiently.
  4. Empty the sink.
  5. Remove waste with a brush and a pipe cleaner.
  6. Rinse with warm water.

ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL

Isopropyl alcohol is an aggressive cleaning agent. Put on gloves and avoid applying it to the outside of wooden pipes. Some coarse salt also helps with this method.

  • Bong
  • Take out the bowl and clean it with a cotton swab and scraper. Then rinse under the tap.
  • Add a tablespoon of coarse salt, followed by a generous stream of isopropyl alcohol.
  • Cover the stem hole with microporous adhesive tape, and the mouthpiece with one hand, but put on a glove. Shake well for 5 minutes.
  • Empty the liquid into the toilet and rinse the bong well with warm water.
  • Soak a handkerchief in isopropyl alcohol and clean the bowl and stem.
  • Soak a pipe cleaner with isopropyl alcohol and clean the inside of the stem. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Pipe
  • With a cotton swab and a pipe cleaner, remove residues from the bowl and inside the stem.
  • Put the pipe in a zippered plastic bag. Add a tablespoon of salt and enough isopropyl alcohol to cover the device.
  • Shake the bag for 5 minutes, and let it rest another 10.
  • Take out the pipe and rinse it well with warm water.
  • Rub the bowl and stem with the help of a pipe cleaner and a brush.
  • Rinse thoroughly.

HOW TO CLEAN THE SIZE OF A BONG AND OTHER PLACES OF DIFFICULT ACCESS

It is very important to spotless the bowl, stem and other hard-to-reach corners. Although we have already mentioned it, it is worth repeating: you may be surprised by the hidden dirt. Dismantle the utensil (if possible) before cleaning it, and get to work with a brush and several pipe cleaners to make sure that your pipe or bong provides you with clean, smooth puffs.
